Onkyo launches high-end headphones

Onkyo has announced the launch of new sets of headphones, which will be added to its already released models. The Japanese manufacturer, that is known for many innovations since its 1946 founding, promises to set the bar even higher with these new releases. "These industry-leading headphone debuts expand our already robust High Resolution Audio range line, raising the acoustic performance bar even higher," said Onkyo's Matthew Dore. "We take an end-to-end approach to acoustic design, eliminating weak links in the audio chain. Every component in the signal path reaches the stringent standards required to achieve the rigorous demands of High Resolution Audio, creating the truest possible sound reproduction."

One of Onkyo's newer designs, the Onkyo A800, is a set of over ear headphones that features open architecture and it is intended for at home use. It comes in black color, with a stylish finish and gold details. Featuring a 50mm High Power driver with multi-layer diaphragm, these headphones provide a 4Hz - 40kHz frequency range and promise an outstanding listening experience. They also have velvet and memory foam ear cushions and a leather headband for great fit and comfort. The Onkyo A800 headphones are expected to cost close to $450 and they are available for pre order.

Featuring a very similar design and technology to the A800 model, the Onkyo H900M headphones are another over ear set of headphones soon to be released. The main difference between the two models is that this one features an acoustically closed architecture that promises an immersive listening experience. Additionally, the Onkyo H900M headphones are portable and they have an in-line remote with a built-in microphone, providing the option to control music and make phone calls. This model will cost around $300 and it is also available for pre order.

Onkyo has already released headphones that offer great performance, fit and comfort. The H500M model is one example of closed back on ear headphones that are created by Onkyo and combine sound quality with stylish design. With a 40mm high power driver and sophisticated aluminum housing, these headphones have a 7Hz - 40kHz frequency range. They are also portable, with in-line control and microphone, and they are available in two colors; black and white. Their price is around $200.

Another very similar model that became available recently, priced at around $250, is the Onkyo H500BT. This one features Bluetooth technology, offering up to 16 hours of continuous wireless use. Its 40mm High Power driver allows a 7Hz - 40kHz frequency range for wired use and a 7Hz - 23.5kHz frequency range for Bluetooth use.
