Kingston Technology has delivered many remarkable computer products before, which have made it one of the leading companies in its field. After Hyper X Cloud, Kingston is back with the second Cloud model of the series, the Hyper X Cloud II, an over-ear, closed-back gaming headset that also promises a unique and immersive gaming experience.
The Hyper X Cloud II follows the path of the previous model, but it is also majorly improved in many areas. Featuring an advanced noise cancelling and echo cancelling technology, as well as a noise cancelling microphone, this headset is here to make a difference in the gaming world.

Build & Design
The Hyper X Cloud II has a very similar design to the Hyper X Cloud. Its design is very stylish and generally this headset is very nice looking. It also comes in three different color combinations, so you can find the one that you like the most. These colors are: black (which is called gun metal), black with red details, and white with pink details.
This headset features a microphone, which is detachable in case you don't want to use it. It also has a USB audio control box, which allows you to change the volume of the audio and of the microphone, as well as activate 7.1 surround sound. The controller is very easy to use and it is very convenient for those who prefer the controls to be on the cord, as opposed to on-headset buttons.
The build of this headset is very impressive. It is very sturdy, and it generally seems well constructed and it feels good to hold and wear. It is made with great materials and it seems to have great durability too, so it will not break easily.
The Hyper X Cloud II is also very light weight, as it weights 320 grams, or 350 grams with microphone and cable, exactly like the previous model. It is very comfortable as well, so you can wear it for many hours without any pain. The memory foam headband is very comfortable to wear, and the two different pairs of ear cups that this headset comes with also contribute to the great comfort that it offers. This means that you can choose between leatherette cups and velour cups, so you can find the ones that you prefer.
With 53mm drivers and a 15-25kKhz frequency response, the Hyper X Cloud II offers a remarkable and impressive sound. The build-in sound card allows this headset to achieve great hi-fi results.
Probably the most impressive thing about the Hyper X Cloud II is its noise cancellation. Kingston made a really good job with this, providing exceptional noise cancellation that allows you to enjoy your game without getting distracted by your environment at all. This headset really is one of the best noise cancelling headsets you can find!
Another great feature of this headset is the fact that you can choose which ear cups to use based on whether you want noise cancellation or not. In fact, if you want to be able to hear your environment instead of being totally isolated, you can use the velour cups. If you want to only focus on the game and take advantage of the extreme noise cancellation that this headset can offer, you can just use the leatherette cups instead.
The sound card also made a big difference in terms of microphone sound, as the sound of the microphone became a lot clearer compared to the Hyper X Cloud model, and the voice reproduction is much more accurate and without background noise. This will allow you to have great communication in multiplayer games, or even take calls without any problem.
As for the sound itself, it is deep and clear, and it allows you to hear everything in the game, and understand where every sound is coming from.
The lows are truly impressive, mainly because of the sound card. The bass is enhanced and there's a real improvement from the previous model.
The mids are also great, especially at the lower end. They have been boosted and improved from the previous model as well.
The highs are also good, but not as clear as the mids and lows. This is mostly noticeable in music however, and not as much in gaming.
Overall, the sound is very good, especially considering the price range of this headset. The noise cancelling technology will really take your gaming to a whole new level and it will provide an extremely immersive experience.
The Hyper X Cloud II is compatible with PC and Mac via USB. This connection also allows the 7.1 surround sound performance, for maximum sound quality. This headset is also compatible with PS4 and Xbox One, via a mini 3.5mm jack plug. However, this type of connection only allows stereo sound.
It is also worth noting that this headset doesn't need a driver in order to work, as it is hardware driven and ready to use just by plugging it in. However, this doesn't allow making changes to the settings of the sound according to the user's preferences, which would provide a more personalized experience.
What's in the box ?
The packaging of the Hyper X Cloud II includes everything you are going to need. Along with the headset itself, the package also comes with the USB controller cord with the built-in sound card, a dual 3.5 jack adapter and the detachable microphone. The package also includes a nice bag to carry everything, as well as a second pair of ear cups.
